This week USPTO granted 195 utility, design, and plant patents to Massachusetts-based inventors. This is the work of 404 named inventors from 135 Commonwealth municipalities. These numbers are based on the Way Better Count method of tracking patents and inventors.

As of October 20, 2015, the year to date Way Better Count of all patents granted to Massachusetts-based inventors or companies shows 4050 patents granted to Massachusetts inventors and 226 patents identified titleholders (assignees) who worked with inventors from the Commonwealth. Of the entities granted patents, 110 identified their location as being in Massachusetts.
